Knitted Polyester (Flag)

The standard knitted polyester flag material

Knitted Polyester (Flag)

  • Industry standard knitted polyester
  • Lightweight and durable
  • High-quality full-colour print
  • 80-90% show-through on the reverse
  • Finished in-house with our industrial sewing machines
  • Approx. maximum finished flag width: 3000mm (depending on chosen finish)
  • Roll width: 3200mm

Each flag is printed and finished to your requirements.

Our flag material is chosen for its durability and image vibrancy.

Flags are printed via a process of dye-sublimation which uses special inks and undergoes a post-print heating process to ‘fix’ the ink into the fabric. This makes it both scuff-resistant and washable.

Finishes Available for Knitted Polyester (Flag)

Below are the standard finishes available for this material. There are no additional charges for these finishes.

Hems & Eyelets

Flags will be given a stitched hem, then eyeletted at equal distributions along the hem. Eyelets are clear plastic.

The standard distribution of eyelets is one per metre. If you require a different distribution or specific placement of eyelets, that’s no problem at all – simply let us know what you need when you place your order.

There is no charge for this finish.

Pole Pockets

A pocket is added to the edges you require to allow a pole to pass through and support/tension the banner.

The diameter of the pocket can be specified by you, however, if you let us know the diameter of the object to go into the pole pocket we can calculate the size of the pocket for you.

Hems Only

Flags will be given a stitched hem.

There is no charge for this finish.

Hook and Loop, aka Velcro

Flags will be stitched to a strip of either hook or loop edging. Please specify which is required when ordering.

Please note, due to the nature of Velcro being a non-elastic material, when sewn onto a fabric graphic, it will prevent the graphic from stretching, which results in a degree of ‘bunching’. This can reduce the overall finished size of the graphic.

A variety of widths are available – please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Black or white strips are available. Our sewists will choose the most appropriate colour to complement your graphic, unless specifically requested.

There is an additional charge for this finish.

Rope & Toggle

A common finish for flags. We sew in a rope with a toggle so it can be easily used on flag poles.

Uses for Knitted Polyester (Flag)

Notice

Our thread colours are black or white. Our sewists will choose the most appropriate colour to complement your graphic.

Currently we can only print up to 3 metres on the shortest edge, to our standard pricing. Flags above this size will need a bespoke quotation.

Consider where you position your flag, as air pollution will cause the white areas to become grey and UV can, over time, cause deterioration and fading to the fabric.

Flags can be washed in a regular washing machine on a 30° wash with no detergents. Always allow your flag to completely dry out before storing.

Ensure that your flag doesn’t catch or snag on its pole or any other surrounding objects. Do not place poles too close together.

Dismantle your flag during adverse weather conditions, including strong winds in excess of beaufort scale 4 (13-18mph). Heavy rain combined with high winds can increase the weight of the flag and put extra strain on the pole.

Life expectancy is entirely dependent on the climatic conditions and hours of flying. Realistic maximum lifespan of a regularly used flag is six months.
